Cost of sessions:
Sessions are £45 for 50min payable by bank transfer:
Session information:
- Sessions will generally be on a weekly basis and usually at the same day/ time.
- Sessions are 50 minutes long. If arriving late for an appointment I may not be able to offer you the full 50 minutes.
- I will review the sessions with you around every six weeks to ensure you are getting what you want from the sessions.
- Communication between sessions is generally kept to a minimum and is usually only used for discussing appointment times. I currently work Wednesday- Saturday and am only available on these days.
- Holidays: I will aim to give you as much notice as possible when I will be on holiday, and I ask the same where possible from clients.
- In the event I am off work due to illness I will aim to contact you as soon as possible.
- Clients have the right to terminate therapy at any time they wish. I just ask that this is discussed before ending.
Cancellation policy:
Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice will incur full payment. If a session is missed it is the client’s responsibility to contact me to arrange a further appointment. If more than two sessions are cancelled/DNA’d this may mean I am unable to offer you any further sessions.
Therapeutic Contract:
During the first few sessions we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to gain from the process. We will then create a verbal contract, which may include goals for therapy, what you might want us to focus on or what way of working may help you best.
Confidentiality:
Information discussed in sessions is confidential, there are however some exceptions to this. These are:
- Supervision: As part of maintaining a high level of clinical practice & to comply with professional standards, I have regular supervision and discuss client work with my supervisor. I do not disclose or share any of your personal details with my supervisor and I abide by GDPR laws & regulations.
- Safety: Counsellors may at times need to contact your GP or other professionals. This will normally be done with your consent and discussed in the counselling session. However, if you or another person’s safety is at risk, it may be necessary to contact these agencies without your consent.
Legal limits to confidentiality include:
- The prevention of terrorism act
- Drug trafficking acts
- Risk or harm to children or vulnerable adults
In a court of law, a counsellor may be required to answer questions about a client, or the work undertaken and produce any records.
Record Keeping:
I keep brief notes of our session and will keep a record of your name, address, contact details and details of your GP. All information is kept secure and will be destroyed after seven years of completion of therapy.
Ethics & professional practice:
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework.
